12 Fathom Break Away Jig Heads - This 4-ounce jig features a plastic wire tie so you can attach it to your favorite type and size hook. A soft body shad tail is attached to a peg situated at the rear of the head. These jigs are heavy enough to reach the deep holes in the ripping tides of the tarpon honey holes. When the tarpon goes BAD, the weight is thrown from the hook, and most times the hook remains buried in the bucket mouth of the tarpon. We suggest using a circle hook as they are know as escape-proof on tarpon.
Designed to break away when a tarpon is hooked, breakaway jigs provide the best chance of landing a giant tarpon by denying the fish the ability to sling the hook using the leverage of the heavy head.
